Accreditation

Communitas has been accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA) since 2005. COA’s program of quality improvement is designed to identify service providers that have met high performance standards and have made a commitment to their stakeholders to deliver the best quality services.

This accreditation is in accordance with the B.C. Government’s policy related to contracted service providers. Communitas is accredited in the standards of Group Living Services, Developmental Disabilities, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Respite Care, Supported Community Living, Volunteer Mentoring, Vocational Rehabilitation and Counselling, and Support and Education.

LICENSING

The Health Authorities’ Licensing departments approve the appointment of Communitas managers for licensed group homes and inspect homes for compliance with Residential Care Regulations set out by the province.
