Communitas and Unitex Hold Sidewalk Sale and Car Wash
Communitas, together with Unitex, is holding a Sidewalk Sale and Car Wash on Saturday, June 13th from 10 am – 2 pm in the Communitas parking lot.
Samantha Palmer manages philanthropy and donor relations for Communitas. She is grateful for the ongoing support that Communitas has received from Unitex, a company that has been operating in the Fraser Valley since 1994 providing custom merchandise.
“The people at Unitex believe in the work Communitas does and are always looking for creative ways to engage with our organization,” Palmer says.

Car detailing is being provided by CommCrew Vehicle Detailing services – a social enterprise of Communitas – that offers detailing and vehicle cleaning services. Trainees and staff will be offering exterior car washes for just $20, which includes a bonus.
“Anyone who purchases a car wash will receive a coupon to use at Little Sprout Café, another of Communitas’ social enterprises,” Palmer says.

The Sidewalk Sale includes unbranded promotional goods like jackets, shirts, toques, and more with partial proceeds benefitting Communitas’ Acquired Brain Injury services.
Nicole Prinsloo, is the owner of Unitex. The company employs people who are affected by neurodivergence, so supporting an organization like Communitas aligns with their company values. For Prinsloo, there is also a personal connection.
“Our family understands traumatic brain injury and neurodivergence on a personal level,” Prinsloo says. “Ensuring there are places for people to go and have a sense of community is imperative to make our whole community thrive. When we assist those with different abilities to live dignified and meaningful lives, everyone benefits.”
The Sidewalk Sale and Car Wash happens Saturday, June 13th from 10 am – 2 pm at Communitas, 2776 Bourquin Crescent West in Abbotsford. Get all the details here!
