We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals who possess excellent teamwork skills to join our team!

Licensed Practical Nurses participate in the nursing process to provide quality care to youth and young adults while implementing the philosophy and values of Communitas. The LPN administers and documents personal care which meets the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the residents of Matthew’s House.

More Details

  • Casual (on-call) staff need to be available for 2-3 shifts per week according to program needs. These may include day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts
  • This position requires a moderate level of physical fitness. Some lifting/transferring of individuals served and assistance with personal care may be require


  • Current Openings:
    • 1 Casual Position


  • Graduation from approved Practical Nursing Program
  • Current registration with BCCN&M
  • Pediatric experience and/or experience working with various disabilities is an asset
  • Experience with Tracheostomy and tube feeding is an asset
  • A philosophy of service that is in line with Communitas’ Vision, Mission and Values
  • Familiar with and able to implement “Spirit of Gentleness” principles
  • Ability to take initiative with creativity
  • A good sense of humor and the ability to interact with youth and young adults in a lighthearted way
  • Excellent teamwork skills, ability to maintain honest, direct and respectful relationships
  • Ability to receive direction as well as being able to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties of the position
  • Ability to physically and emotionally carry out the duties of the position
  • Possession of a valid Class 4 BC drivers license (restricted)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possession of Food Safe Level 1Certificate or equivalent
  • Current CPR “C” Certificate
  • Proof of full of COVID-19 vaccination
