Long Term Residential
S.T.E.P. participant

Topaz Place is a home located in Chilliwack, British Columbia for older individuals who have a mental illness. Residents are people who are no longer able to live on their own. We provide full-time care, respecting the needs of each individual.

Residents have their own rooms. All residents share a common living room and an activity room that includes an area to play games, enjoy the fireplace on a cool evening, watch TV or listen to the stereo. Staff provide meals, medical care, daily living support and companionship.

The focus is on recovery and hope. We actively promote an environment where individuals develop and maintain community ties. While some individuals may choose to go out for coffee or enjoy community activities, others choose to spend time around the home visiting with staff and other residents.

Staffing includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and other healthcare workers. There are also activity workers that design recreational activities to meet the social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of residents.

Potential residents require a referral from the Fraser Health Authority – Mental Health.

Strengthening Community

At Topaz Place we appreciate and respect each person. Residents are supported and encouraged to participate in their community as much as they are able.
